Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited histology program and histotechnician certification.
• Five years of histotechnician experience with certification, or ten+ years without.
• Associate degree in a chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology; or 60 semester hours plus required lab training as specified.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the Histology Laboratory.
• Maintain quality control systems for specimen processing, embedding, cutting, and staining.
• Coordinate workflow within the section to ensure timely slide availability for pathologists/residents.
• Ensure compliance with CAP and Joint Commission accreditation and safety requirements.
