Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Basic Science.
• Two years of related experience.
• Three years of related experience (preferred).
• ASCP Histotechnologist (HTL) certification (required).
• QIHC or Digital Pathology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists with recruitment, hiring, payroll, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation, competency assessment, coaching, disciplinary action and/or termination process of divisional employees.
• Supervises laboratory personnel performing routine and specialized procedures, plans work, evaluates performance, and resolves technical problems.
• Acts as lead worker, directs daily operations, schedules work assignments, and develops protocols.
• Ensures adequate staffing for efficient operation and maintains compliance with quality standards.
• Reviews lab data for accuracy and reports results with proper documentation.
• Trains students and covers different shifts to ensure patient care.
• Participates in Quality Management activities including QA/QC, proficiency testing, and corrective actions.
• Evaluates new tests or instruments and manages inventory and budgeting.
