Job summary

St. Johns Riverside Hospital is seeking a leadership professional for the Histology section of the laboratory. This role requires supervising Histology staff, coordinating workloads, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with SOPs.

The incumbent will perform microtomy and staining as needed and support pre/post analytical processes, including waste management. The ideal candidate has five years of hospital MT experience, strong MS Office skills, and excellent written communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Five years of hospital experience as a medical technologist.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite of products.
• Ability to communicate in writing with advanced skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Histology staff to ensure SOP compliance and accurate specimen handling and results.
• Coordinates workload, schedules staff, and assists with pre/post analytical processes including waste management.
• Performs microtomy and staining as needed.
• Advises and assists staff with daily workflows and maintains department coverage.
• Cuts, embeds, and stains frozen sections, surgical and autopsy samples; assists with FNA collection as needed.
• Prepares solutions and performs special stains.
• Maintains SOPs, generates quality reports, and manages inventory.
