Job summary

Quest Diagnostics seeks a Lab Assistant II in Histology for Tucker, GA, working nights from 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM, Monday through Friday. The role focuses on preparing histology slides, tissue processing, and related clerical tasks.

The position requires at least 1 year in histopathology or a related lab, and experience handling PHI in an LIS. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• One year of histopathology or other laboratory experience.
• One year of experience handling PHI using an LIS.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and LIS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation under supervision.
• Receive, label and prepare tissue specimens for gross dissection.
• Maintain and clean equipment.
• Perform cover slipping of slides manually or with automation.
• Stain H&E slides manually or with automation.
• Prepare reagents for tissue processing and staining.
• Process paperwork for accessioning and reporting.
• Monitor inventory and stock supplies.
