Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a Histology Assistant for a PRN, days schedule in a on-site clinical laboratory. You will receive specimens, log them accurately, and file slides and blocks for the Pathologist while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role involves performing Cytospin procedures, staining, and routine lab upkeep, with responsibilities including ordering supplies and observing all safety procedures. High School diploma or GED required; BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate/bachelor's preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• 6–12 months of Histology or lab experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Receive specimens from surgery and log with complete data.
• File slides and blocks accurately and timely.
• Retrieve slides/blocks per Pathologist requests.
• Perform Cytospin/ staining and ensure quality slides.
• Maintain equipment and housekeeping in the lab.
