Job summary

Inform Diagnostics is seeking a Lab Aide I to support the Histology department in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The role involves loading stainers, preparing slides, and ensuring accurate labeling and record-keeping to maintain patient specimen integrity.

The position requires high school completion with preferred biology-related degree, basic lab skills, and the ability to handle physical tasks and overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences strongly preferred.
• Prior lab experience is preferred.
• Manual dexterity to use common laboratory equipment and perform sterile techniques.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• May have exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes, and bio-hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Handles, prepares, and loads/unloads stainers; prepares dehydrating and coverslip slides.
• Prepares, cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and shuts down laboratory equipment, accessories, and instruments.
• Records in Laboratory logbooks all slides and stains prepared. Logs information into the Laboratory Information system.
• Routinely checks and verifies that surgical case numbers match blocks and slides; prints labels as appropriate.
• Filing, tracking, retrieval, and accurate record keeping.
