The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine is seeking a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD to join the Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Laboratory as a clinical faculty member. Candidates must be ASHI-certified or ASHI board-eligible as a Histocompatibility Laboratory Director and eligible to serve in a director-level role under applicable CLIA, CAP, and ASHI requirements.

The successful candidate will join a nationally recognized histocompatibility laboratory supporting one of the largest and most comprehensive transplant programs in the United States, including kidney, pancreas, heart, lung, liver, and hematopoietic cell transplantation programs.

Responsibilities include interpretation and reporting of HLA and transplant immunology testing, clinical consultation with transplant teams, participation in multidisciplinary patient review conferences, and medical and scientific oversight of histocompatibility testing.

Opportunities for laboratory leadership, program development, education, and scholarly activity are available and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Faculty are expected to participate in the teaching and mentoring of pathology residents, fellows, medical students, and laboratory trainees.
