Job summary

The Department of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh is inviting applications for an academic-track faculty member to serve as Assistant or Associate Director of the Histocompatibility (HLA) Laboratory. This laboratory supports all solid-organ and bone marrow transplant programs at four hospitals of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, four external hospitals, and one OPO. Candidates must hold an M.D.

and/or Ph.D. and be board-certified/eligible by ACHI.

Qualifications

• MD or PhD degree required.
• Board-certified or eligible by the ACHI.
• Experience in a high-complexity ASHI-certified/eligible clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Teach medical students, residents and fellows.
• Engage in basic, clinical and translational research and development.
• Pursue independent extramural funding where possible.
• Provide leadership as Assistant/Associate Director of the HLA Laboratory.
