Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is seeking a Hispanic Outreach Coordinator to connect the Hispanic community with educational opportunities. The role requires bilingual communication and cultural sensitivity to support students' path to higher education.

The coordinator will develop outreach strategies, coordinate events, and build partnerships with schools and community organizations to increase program enrollment, awareness, and access to college resources for first-generation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, communications, or related field.
• 2–4 years in community outreach, education, or nonprofit work; preferred for underserved or first-generation students.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish; strong oral and written communication skills.
• Deep understanding of Hispanic communities and cultural norms; ability to build trust and rapport.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement outreach strategies to connect with Hispanic communities, including schools and cultural leaders to Crosby Scholars Program.
• Organize and manage events such as college tours, workshops, and information sessions on applications, financial aid, and scholarships.
• Establish and maintain relationships with high schools, community colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies serving Hispanic students.
• Create culturally sensitive materials in Spanish and English; ensure communications reflect Hispanic cultural values.
• Provide guidance on college applications, FAFSA completion, and scholarship opportunities.
• Monitor and evaluate outreach effectiveness; support grant reporting and program impact.
