Job summary

Crosby Scholars Community Partnership in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a bilingual Hispanic Outreach Coordinator to bridge schools and Hispanic families with higher education opportunities. You will design targeted outreach, coordinate college tours and workshops, and support students with applications, FAFSA, and scholarships.

The role requires cultural sensitivity and the ability to build trust with diverse communities; travel to engagement sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, communications, or related field.
• 2–4 years in community outreach, education, or nonprofit work; preferably with underserved or first-generation students.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish; strong oral and written communication.
• Deep understanding of Hispanic communities and cultural norms; ability to build trust.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management systems.
• Experience with first-generation college students and underserved populations, preferred.
• Experience coordinating educational programs, community events, or outreach initiatives, preferred.
• Knowledge of college admissions, financial aid, FAFSA, and scholarship processes, preferred.
• Experience with grant reporting, program evaluation, or data analysis, preferred.
• Experience creating bilingual outreach and marketing materials, preferred.
• Event planning, public speaking, grant writing, data analysis, and relationship-building.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community partners.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Community Engagement: Develop and implement outreach strategies to connect with Hispanic communities, including schools and community organizations.
• Event Coordination: Organize college and career tours, workshops, and information sessions on applications, financial aid, and scholarships.
• Partnership Building: Establish and maintain relationships with high schools, community colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies serving Hispanic students.
• Cultural Competence: Create culturally sensitive materials in Spanish and English; ensure communications respect Hispanic cultural values.
• Student Support: Guide prospective students on college applications, FAFSA completion, and scholarship opportunities.
• Program Evaluation: Monitor outreach effectiveness and track data for grant reporting and program impact.
