Job summary

SageWest Health Care – Lander is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide life-saving respiratory care to patients across all age groups. The position offers up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

Your role will encompass various responsibilities including managing ventilators, performing treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams. Qualified candidates will have the necessary certifications and a two-year degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a two‑year AMA‑approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Experience in an acute care or clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy and nebulizer treatments.
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators, troubleshooting as necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to deliver exceptional patient care.

What You'll Do

As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll play a vital role in delivering life‑saving respiratory care to patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, and suctioning
• Managing and monitoring mechanical ventilators, including troubleshooting and adjusting settings as appropriate
• Assisting with emergency interventions, code responses, and manual resuscitation
• Obtaining and interpreting arterial blood gases and communicating results to the healthcare team
• Conducting pulmonary function testing and 12‑lead EKGs
• Recognizing and reporting life‑threatening arrhythmias and changes in patient condition
• Maintaining respiratory therapy equipment and ensuring compliance with infection control standards
• Accurately documenting patient care, interventions, and outcomes
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of a two‑year AMA‑approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Current state license or certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within facility‑required timeframe
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within facility‑required timeframe
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, as required by facility policy

Preferred

• Experience in an acute care or clinical setting
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and clinical assessment skillsAbility to work independently and effectively in high‑acuity environments
