Job summary

SageWest Health Care in Wyoming is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) to join a supportive, patient‑focused team. Responsibilities include delivering oxygen and nebulizer therapies, managing ventilators, and participating in emergency responses and assessments.

The role supports growth in a stable hospital system serving Fremont County communities. Requirements include graduation from an AMA‑approved two‑year Respiratory Therapy program and NBRC credentialing (CRT/RRT), with BLS/ACLS per

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an AMA‑approved Respiratory Therapy program (2 years).
• Competent in delivering respiratory care with strong clinical judgment.
• Preferred ability to work independently in a high‑acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, and suctioning.
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators, including troubleshooting and adjusting settings as appropriate.
• Assist with emergency interventions, code responses, and manual resuscitation.
• Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases and communicate results to the healthcare team.
• Conduct pulmonary function testing and 12‑lead EKGs.
• Recognize and report life‑threatening arrhythmias and changes in patient condition.
• Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
• Accurately document patient care, interventions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

What You’ll Do

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of a two‑year AMA‑approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Current state license or certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within facility‑required timeframe
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within facility‑required timeframe
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, as required by facility policy

Preferred

• Experience in an acute care or clinical setting
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively in high‑acuity environments
