Job summary

CarMax, the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, is seeking a Management Assistant in Hoover, Alabama. You will support store operations by assisting managers with hiring, onboarding, documentation, and orientation for new associates, while delivering exceptional customer service and coordinating administrative tasks across sales, auction, and appraisal functions.

You will handle cash management, paperwork processing, and system updates in a fast-paced environment, maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and accurately transcribe data for records.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in deadline-driven environments.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and intermediate PC skills.
• Effective communication with customers and associates in person, by phone, and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate hiring and onboarding: schedule interviews, prepare documents, manage applicant records.
• Facilitate new associate orientation and maintain personnel files.
• Provide customer service by greeting customers and handling paperwork.
• Process sales and auction paperwork including DMV documentation.
• Handle cash management tasks and deposits.
• Support Business Office operations and mentor new associates.
• Adhere to EH&S requirements and maintain a clean work area.
