Responsibilities

• Install cable pathways including tray, basket tray, J-hooks, and support systems.
• Pull, route, and secure voice, data, and fiber optic cabling.
• Terminate jacks, faceplates, patch panels, and low-voltage devices.
• Read blueprints and execute installations to specifications.
• Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate and oversee helper activities when assigned.
• Provide regular updates to project leadership.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Travel to various job sites throughout the Nashville area.

URGENTLY HIRING: Cable Technician (Voice & Data)

Location: Nashville, TN

Pay: $22-$26/HR Based on Experience

Contract-to-Hire | 6 Months

Overtime Available (1.5x Pay Rate)

TEKsystems is actively hiring experienced Cable Technicians to support some of the largest commercial construction projects in the Nashville area. If you have experience with structured cabling, blueprint reading, and working independently in commercial environments, we want to hear from you!

What We're Looking For

Structured Cabling Experience

• Extensive experience installing voice and data cabling
• Experience pulling Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cable
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards and best practices

Blueprint Reading & Jobsite Ownership

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
• Comfortable running work independently
• Ability to identify and solve issues in the field
• Keep project leads updated on progress and roadblocks

Leadership Experience

• Lead and direct helpers on-site
• Delegate tasks and maintain quality workmanship
• Promote a safe and productive work environment

Customer Interaction

• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Represent TEKsystems positively on every jobsite

Preferred Qualifications

• Fiber optic installation experience
• Audio Visual (AV) installation experience
• Commercial low-voltage experience
• Electrical construction background
• Experience on large commercial construction projects
• Experience working in stadiums, hotels, hospitals, or other large facilities

Work Environment

You’ll be working on some of the most exciting commercial construction projects in the Nashville market. Work may take place in active construction environments, large hospitality venues, entertainment facilities, and other major commercial developments. Candidates should be comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in fast-paced construction settings while adhering to all site safety requirements.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
