Job summary

At Moxe, the Digital Release Specialist handles timely processing of Release of Information requests while upholding top service standards.

The associate is expected to rigorously protect patient privacy, ensuring access to medical information is granted only to authorized parties and that all disclosures strictly adhere to the request, supporting documentation, organizational policy, and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in HIM and/or Release of Information.
• 5+ years of experience with EHR processing (Meditech or Epic).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Self-motivated, a team player, and able to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Process release-of-information requests by retrieving patient charts, accurately scanning and transmitting records, and returning charts in accordance with established procedures, quality standards, and daily productivity requirements.
• Interact with requestors to identify medical records needed for patient care, review, billing or release of information
• Validates requests and authorizations for release of medical information according to established procedures.
• Performs quality checks on all work to assure accuracy of the release, confidentiality, and proper invoicing.
• Provides excellent customer service by remaining attentive and respectful, ensuring full understanding of customer requests, following through as promised, and proactively identifying and addressing client concerns or issues.
• Handle all requests and inquiries for patient health information whether received via mail, fax, phone, or in person according to our SLAs
• Maintains equipment and supports facilities during periods of high workload
• Serve as a Release of Information subject matter expert while performing complex duties including processing requests for PHI
• Follow all federal and state laws, facility policies, and company procedures related to the release of information and patient privacy.
