The role requires 0–1 years in healthcare or customer service, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Shift is 40 hours/week, Tue-Sat 1-9:30p, with full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–1 years in healthcare or customer service.
• Ability to read medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Experience with electronic health records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Protect patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and regulations.
• Validate authorizations meet legal requirements and release criteria.
• Log requests in the Release of Information system (OnBase/EPIC).
• Identify and extract PHI from the health record for requests.
• Ensure scanned documents are correctly added to the release package.
• Review pages for accuracy before release; report mis-scans.
• Release records in preferred format (CDs, email, portals).
• Provide excellent customer service and explain processes to requesters.
• Perform clerical tasks as needed (phones, copying, mail, supplies).
