Job summary

CHI St. Vincent, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks an HIM professional to manage complex record workflows, imaging, and data integrity across the patient health record lifecycle.

You will ensure HIPAA compliance, support providers, and handle release of information requests in a fast-paced healthcare setting in Arkansas.

Qualifications

• Experience in health information management in acute care or healthcare settings.
• EMR systems and HIM applications experience required.
• Progress toward RHIT or RHIA or healthcare/business degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced HIM functions including document imaging (prep, scan, index, quality review).
• Analyze medical records for completeness; manage deficiencies per regulatory requirements.
• Investigate and resolve data integrity issues and maintain Master Patient Index accuracy.
• Process and reconcile rejected orders and support provider completion workflows.
• Support and process release of information (ROI) requests in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Performs advanced Health Information Management (HIM) functions to support the integrity, accuracy, and availability of patient health records across the medical record lifecycle. Independently manages complex workflows including document imaging, chart analysis, data integrity resolution, and record completion processes. Serves as a resource within the HIM department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, and supporting providers and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

• Perform advanced HIM functions including document imaging (prep, scan, index, quality review)
• Analyze medical records for completeness; assign and manage deficiencies in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Investigate and resolve data integrity issues (e.g., duplicate or unlinked medical record numbers) and maintain Master Patient Index accuracy
• Process and reconcile rejected orders and support provider completion workflows
• Support and process release of information (ROI) requests in compliance with regulatory standards
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
