Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a detail-oriented Records Specialist to accurately upload and index outside records into the EHR, routing documents to clinicians and assigning the correct patient, encounter, or order. You will review medical records for missing signatures and ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards.

This on-site role requires basic computer skills and the ability to learn Epic, OnBase, and other systems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–1 year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficiency with medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to learn new software systems including Epic, OnBase, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Accurately upload/index outside records using applicable software and route documentation to clinicians.
• Create or select the appropriate patient, encounter, or order while indexing into the EHR.
• Identify missing documentation and deficiencies and update the chart management system per regulations.
• Ensure scanned documents are clear, legible, and properly positioned.
