Advocate Health in Milwaukee seeks a detail-oriented records indexing specialist to manage outside records in the EHR system. You will route documents, create or select patient encounters, and ensure proper document types and descriptions are applied with accuracy.

You will incorporate varied clinical documentation, meet HIM quality benchmarks, and assist clinicians with record completion while safeguarding PHI and adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-1 year of healthcare experience typically required.
• Proficient computer and keyboarding skills.
• Familiarity with Epic, OnBase, Solarity, and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Ability to safeguard PHI and comply with HIPAA.

Responsabilités

• Upload/index outside records using applicable software and route docs to clinicians.
• Create or select appropriate patient, encounter, or order while indexing into the EHR.
• Incorporate clinical documentation from various sources per HIM procedures with quality benchmarks.
• Identify missing documentation and assign/edit deficiencies in the chart management system.
• Collaborate with data integrity and other teams to communicate errors and support privacy investigations.
• Ensure scanned documents are clear, legible, and properly positioned for end users.
• Serve as a point of contact for record completion support for clinicians.
