Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Health Information Technician to accurately upload and index outside records into the EHR, assign correct document types, and ensure legible, complete chart documentation.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, 0–1 year healthcare experience, and familiarity with Epic, OnBase, Solarity, Microsoft Office, and Teams, with strict HIPAA and PHI compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–1 year healthcare experience preferred.
• Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic) and document management tools.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to safeguard PHI and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Upload/index outside records into the EHR with correct document type and description.
• Ensure documentation is legible and correctly routed to clinicians.
• Identify missing signatures or documentation and flag deficiencies.
• Provide support and education to clinicians on record completion.
• Maintain quality and productivity benchmarks and work with chart management systems.
