Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a healthcare information professional to protect and maintain patient data, manage medical records, and support electronic documentation workflows in a Mount Holly, NJ setting. This full-time role operates on the 2nd shift, M-F, 12:30pm–9pm, with a 40-hour week, on-site.

You will capture paper records into OnBase and Epic, perform quality reviews, and assist physicians to complete electronic health records.

Qualifications

• 2 years of medical office experience required or equivalent in education (minimum of AAS in HIM).
• Strong Knowledge of medical record format.
• Ability to perform computer functions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; customer service focused.
• Previous experience with an electronic health record system preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Document capture of paper records into OnBase and Epic.
• Monitor and manage electronic images in OnBase and Epic.
• Perform quality audits and ensure proper indexing.
• Assist physicians in completing electronic documentation.
• Validate demographic information and merges/duplicates.
• Monitor Epic In-basket queues and OnBase PAT queues.
• Support release of information requests and scheduled surgeries.
• Ensure flow of clinical documentation to work queues for audits.
• Final quality control review of paper documents before destruction.
