Job summary

Seneca Healthcare District in Chester, CA is seeking an HIM/Patient Access Lead to coordinate daily workflows for the HIM and Patient Access teams. You will assist the department director in planning and distributing work to ensure accurate registration and secure medical records management across hospital and clinic services.

The role involves training, performance monitoring, and collaboration with other departments to resolve process issues while maintaining HIPAA compliance and high service

Qualifications

• Three years minimum of general clerical experience in a HIM and/or Patient Access department preferable.
• Proficient typing speed at minimum of 35 words per minute with accuracy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology.
• Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally, and in writing, to include legible handwriting, correct grammar, and spelling.
• Must possess good working command of the English language.
• Must be literate in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must possess the ability to operate standard office equipment and be computer literate.
• Previous cash collections and financial institution experience desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides coverage when called upon to perform any of the HIM/Patient Access Representative.
• Provide support in organizing work distribution through effectively managing workload to meet department targeted standards.
• Monitors and completes quality and accuracy audit activities for Patient Access and HIM.
• Mentors staff to assure consistency of department operations. Monitors the daily workflow and productivity of staff.
• Closely monitors and provides guidance to staff to ensure they understand their assigned duties or delegated tasks.
• Assist in providing training and re‑training to all staff and new hires.
• Provide support and coordination of team personnel issues, staff reviews, and schedule management.
• Build positive relationships and inspire others to perform at a higher level.
• Provide input on improvements in performance of respective service line.
• Work with department Director and other departments to identify process issues or obstacles.
• Meet daily productivity requirements based on assigned goals and metrics. Integrates data from a variety of electronic and paper sources.
• Assist and contribute to the weekly service line team data and performance reporting.
• Communicate potential risk management issues to Director and other team members.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulatory and department policies are met to ensure compliance on an ongoing basis.
