Job summary

Samaritan Health Services is seeking a Director of Health Information Management at Samaritan Medical Center to lead system-wide data quality and documentation accuracy for inpatient and outpatient services. You will oversee electronic medical records, ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards, and collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Leadership team to drive performance and improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management.
• RHIA certification within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum five years of hospital HIM leadership experience.
• Experience with inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory coding and CDI preferred.
• Experience with Meditech is desired.
• Experience with managing teams in multiple locations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee system-wide data quality management and documentation accuracy.
• Lead HIM operations across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory coding.
• Develop and monitor departmental goals and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, JCAHO, and state/federal regulations.
• Manage budget and collaborate with Legal affairs.
• Liaise with transcription vendors and ensure timely records.
• Provide staff management including hiring, training, and performance.
