Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Technician/Coder for our Monroe location. The role processes discharge charts, performs ICD-10 coding, and supports chart assembly, data entry across multiple systems.

You will scan charts, assist the ROI Coordinator, support the HIM Director, and help maintain accurate patient records while patients are in-house, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Experience: 2+ years of administrative experience; 1 year in a health care setting required.
• Additional Requirements: CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA; Verbal De-Escalation and Handle with Care; CPR training provided during Fairfax new hire training.

Responsibilities

The HIM Technician/coder processes discharge charts, including ICD-10 coding, chart assembly and analysis, and data entry across multiple systems. This role also supports the HIM department by scanning charts and assisting the ROI Coordinator, completing departmental tasks, and helping the Director of HIM as needed. In addition, the position helps maintain accurate patient records while patients are in-house and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, licensing requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
