Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. seeks a Health Information Technician/Coder for the Monroe location. You will process discharge charts with ICD-10 coding, assemble and analyze charts, and enter data across multiple systems. The role also scans charts and supports the ROI Coordinator and HIM Director as needed.

You will help maintain accurate patient records while in-house and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, licensing requirements, and Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
• Experience: 2+ years of administrative experience; 1 year in a health care setting required.
• Additional Requirements: CPC, or CCS, or RHIT, or RHIA. Verbal De-Escalation and Handle with Care certifications, CPR.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a detailed Health Information Technician/Coder for our Monroe location. The HIM Technician/coder processes discharge charts, including ICD-10 coding, chart assembly and analysis, and data entry across multiple systems. This role also supports the HIM department by scanning charts and assisting the ROI Coordinator, completing departmental tasks, and helping the Director of HIM as needed. In addition, the position helps maintain accurate patient records while patients are in-house and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, licensing requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
