Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Health Information Management Manager to oversee daily HIM operations across multiple facilities. You will lead staff, manage productivity and quality, and support documentation integrity, release of information, and amendment requests.

The role requires RHIA/RHIT certification and 4+ years in HIM, including 2+ years in management. You will collaborate with leadership, physicians, and staff to close documentation gaps, monitor KPIs, and prepare performance reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of HIM experience, including at least 2 years in a management role.
• RHIA or RHIT certification required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven problem-solving skills with a proactive, collaborative approach.
• Ability to travel between assigned sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support HIM staff through hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and daily operations.
• Oversee day-to-day HIM functions across assigned facilities, including medical records, release of information, and amendment requests.
• Drive consistency in HIM tools, processes, and best practices across sites.
• Partner with leadership, physicians, and medical staff to address documentation gaps and improve record completion.
• Monitor KPIs and help resolve documentation issues affecting coding, billing, or record completion.
• Prepare and share performance reports, site visit updates, and operational statuses with leadership.
• Support regulatory reviews, accreditation readiness, and compliance with HIM standards.
• Travel between assigned facilities to provide onsite support and maintain strong relationships.
