Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Health Information Management (HIM) Manager to oversee daily HIM operations across assigned facilities, ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant health information processes while leading staff and optimizing workflows.

You will partner with leadership and medical staff, drive KPI reporting, support regulatory reviews and accreditation readiness, and travel between sites to provide on-site support.

Qualifications

• 4+ years HIM experience including at least 2 years in a management role
• RHIA or RHIT certification required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills with ability to lead in a fast-paced environment
• Proven problem-solving skills with a proactive, collaborative approach
• Ability to travel between assigned sites

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily HIM operations across assigned facilities
• Lead HIM staff including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Manage productivity and quality in HIM functions
• Support documentation integrity, deficiency management, release of information, amendments, and medical records operations
• Drive consistency in HIM tools, processes, and best practices across sites
• Prepare and share performance reports and site updates with leadership
• Support regulatory reviews, accreditation readiness, and compliance with HIM standards
• Travel between facilities to provide onsite support and maintain relationships
