Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking an Health Information Management Manager to provide leadership, direct the HIM staff, and ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. The role oversees budgeting, confidentiality, and chart compliance across departments.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree with RHIA certification or eligibility, plus several years in health information systems and management, within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• RHIA or eligible required.
• Three (3) years experience in Health Information Systems.

Responsibilities

• (60%) Manage the Health Information Management staff: hire, direct, counsel and terminate employees. Perform JPRs, schedule staff, conduct department meetings, and coordinate in-service /education opportunities.
• (20%) Responsible for development of policies and procedures associated with Health Information Management activities.
• (10%) Responsible for coordination of medical staff performance activities.
• (10%) Orients new employees and physicians to HIM department.
• (10%) Coordinates and plans activities associated with daily management of areas and conducts departmental meetings.
