Job summary

Nimkee Memorial Wellness Center, operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, seeks a full-time Health Information Management Clerk to support patient registration, data entry and statistics under the HIM Manager. The role requires keeping data accurate and confidential while assisting with RPMS and privacy compliance.

The position emphasizes strong documentation, adherence to HIPAA, and quality reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year HIM experience with medical terminology and computer systems.
• Must pass a HIM proficiency test with 80% accuracy.
• Experience with IHS and RPMS preferred.
• Must pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Review records for Public Health, Fitness, Medical, Optical, and Pharmacy.
• Run quality data reviews and error reports in RPMS.
• Ensure electronic health information is accurate in RPMS.
• Back up HIM Manager and assist with Privacy/HIPAA compliance training.
• Prepare monthly exports and submit reports to the area office.
