Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking an executive to oversee coding and CDI operations, audits, and education. You will serve as the HIM and CDI subject matter expert, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate revenue cycle coding.

You will develop training, mentor staff, and partner with physicians to improve documentation and outcomes. The role requires strong leadership, a health information management background, and a commitment to quality and patient safety within a large healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Health Information Management required.
• CCA credential required or equivalent.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS credentials considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversees coding and CDI operations, chart auditing and staff feedback.
• Develops internal auditing to verify ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding accuracy.
• Reviews and appeals external DRG and clinical validation denials.
• Reports audit findings, trends and remediation plans to leadership.
• Plans staffing, training and education initiatives; ensures coverage for vacancies.
• Mentors coder interns and ensures AHIMA standards are met.
• Collaborates with HIM physician advisor on physician education and compliance.
