Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Miramar, Florida, seeks a Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity to oversee CDI programs across all hospitals.

The leader will guide physician education, develop strategies with CMIO and hospital leadership, and ensure documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.

This executive role requires clinical CDI expertise, strong communication, and the ability to drive education and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Educate physicians to improve documentation accuracy in patient records.
• Participates in new resident training sponsored by GME office.
• Liaises between medical staff and CDI staff on documentation and query issues and strategies.
• Assists with planning ad hoc CDI consultations and educational sessions for specific providers or service line departments.
• Educates and consults physicians, mid-level providers, residents, and other clinical departments to improve the accuracy of documentation in patient medical records.
• Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal and operational controls designed to ensure CDI practices are compliant with regulatory requirements.
• Leads and implements provider documentation strategies by working closely with Medical Director of Centralized UR-HIM, CMOs, Hospitalist Physician leaders, CFOs, and CMIO.
