Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking an Audit & Education Specialist to develop and implement a comprehensive audit and education program for coding aligned with CMS and healthcare revenue cycle standards. You will support documentation practices, training providers and staff, and ensure accuracy in CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding across departments.

The role reports to the Audit and Education Manager and requires on-site work, strong communication skills, and proactive process improvement to enhance

Qualifications

• Medical Coding License CPC/CCS-P/CCS required.
• Minimum of five years’ work experience with CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding conventions.
• Strong ability to analyze data and provide education to providers and coders.

Responsibilities

• Performs revenue opportunity assessment and executes the professional audit work plan with QA.
• Analyzes audit results and creates education material for providers and staff.
• Develops documentation templates for specialty/client coding and reporting.
• Researches CMS, Medicare, Medicaid and third-party policies to stay current with regulatory requirements.
• Communicates audit requirements through memos and training sessions.
• Supports Medicare Risk Adjustment data capture and improves documentation quality.
