Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Seattle is seeking an Electrical Interconnect Documentation Specialist to own and maintain HIL interconnect diagrams, SIDs, BIDs, and 2D harness drawings. You will develop end-to-end schematics in AutoCAD Electrical and create wiring tables and BOMs for HIL labs, collaborating with engineers and technicians.

The role requires hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical, Creo for wiring drawings, and a strong understanding of connectors, wire sizing, and network topology.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical system integration, schematic design, or wire harness development.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical for schematic and interconnect diagram creation.
• Creo experience for 2D harness drawings and BOMs.
• Strong understanding of wire sizing, shielding, and connector mating systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and produce accurate documentation and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain System Interconnect Diagrams (SIDs) and Block Interconnect Diagrams (BIDs) to map system-level connectivity across HIL racks and avionics.
• Create and maintain HIL networking diagrams documenting network topology and connectivity between HIL nodes and simulators.
• Design end-to-end electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical with component selection and pin-out definitions.
• Generate and maintain harness wiring information (from-to tables) for HIL cable assemblies.
• Create 2D wire harness drawings and BOMs in Creo, with lengths and bundle dimensions.
• Select electrical components such as connectors, terminals, and wires suitable for HIL environments.
• Support prototype builds, bring-up, troubleshooting, and validation with technicians.
• Establish and maintain drafting standards and configuration control (Windchill).
