Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Harness Design engineer to support the Mk1 Vehicle Electrical Harness Design team. You will develop wiring interconnect diagrams (WID), harness assembly drawings, and installation drawings for power, RF, and high‑speed data systems.

The role requires 5+ years in aerospace harness design, proficiency with Creo, Zuken, Windchill, or equivalent CAD tools, and familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620A standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years designing wire harnesses for aerospace.
• Proficient with Creo, Zuken, Windchill or similar CAD tools.
• Knowledge of wire derating analysis and applicable harness standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4).

Responsibilities

• Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, and high‑speed data signals.
• Select harness components, connectors, backshells, and cables.
• Create Wiring diagrams using Zuken E3.
• Create 3D routed harness data files in Creo.
• Produce harness installation drawings and 2D flat harness drawings.
• Design and integrate harness support brackets.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Provide technical guidance for hardware installation.
• Assist assembly and testing of cables and harnesses.
• Report activity schedule and status; identify improvement opportunities.
