By joining our Project Delivery and Preservation Branch I as a Highway Technician Assistant I in WoodfordCounty, you’ll have the opportunity to take advantage of classroom and in-field trainings to allow forcontinued education to become specialized in road, construction, maintenance and operations.
Be able to lift 50 pounds, work on rough terrain, around various types of equipment, be able to twist, bend,stoop, stand. Should be able to work extended hours and in all weather elements.

Incumbents in this job title typically perform their work at a highway maintenance facility or section office, at work sites throughout the assigned work area, and when necessary, district wide. Incumbent will be exposed to risks inherent to working with large equipment and machines involved with road construction. Must be able to work extended hours and be outside during inclement weather.
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 12 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification. Within 12 months of employment in this job classification, employees in this classification must furnish the agency's appointing authority with documentation that he or she holds a valid Class B commercial driver's license. Within one year of employment in this job classification, the employee must complete First Aid and Snow and Ice Training and must possess Traffic Control/Flagger and OSHA 10 Certifications or equivalent. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
