Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking a Highway Technician Assistant I in Versailles, KY. The role includes operating and maintaining roadside equipment, hauling materials, and supporting winter operations. You will gain classroom and field training to grow into road maintenance specialties.

Ideal candidates should be 18+, hold a valid driver's license, and be prepared for extended hours in all weather. The position offers overtime eligibility and a chance to advance within the Kentucky

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Within 12 months must furnish documentation of a valid Class B CDL.
• Within one year must complete First Aid and Snow and Ice Training and possess Traffic Control/Flagger and OSHA 10 Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Haul materials to and from job sites.
• Operate dump trucks with snowplow and salt spreader in winter months.
• Operate tractor-type mowing machine and assist in brush cutting.
• Operate equipment such as chain saws, weed eaters, or woodchippers.
• Flag for operations requiring traffic control.
