Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician in Moorcroft, Wyoming, to perform a range of maintenance duties under limited supervision and help provide safe, high-quality transportation systems. This role includes operating trucks with plows, maintaining road surfaces, and supporting traffic control during maintenance operations.

Preferred candidates will have an Associate’s degree in engineering or related field and may hold a Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL
• Experience operating heavy equipment and maintaining roadways is desirable
• Knowledge of safety protocols and PPE usage is essential

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain highway equipment safely and proficiently
• Provide training or direction to Highway Maintenance Assistants
• Assist with traffic control and setup of work zones
• Maintain road surfaces, signs, and striping; perform snow/ice removal as needed
• Complete required training to maintain certifications and learn new skills
