Job summary

The State of Wyoming seeks a Highway Maintenance Technician for WYDOT’s Muddy Gap crew to maintain and repair roadways across District Two in Central Wyoming. The role involves operating heavy equipment, snow removal, and strict safety compliance in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities include maintenance of equipment and facilities, ongoing trainings, and coordination with teams to keep roadways safe.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of progressive highway maintenance or construction experience.
• Ability to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months of hire.
• Evidence of readiness to obtain water certifications if required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy highway equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct traffic control and ensure worker and public safety.
• Perform snow and ice removal and road surface rehabilitation tasks.
• Maintain rest areas facilities and water/wastewater systems.
• Attend required trainings and obtain necessary certifications.
