Job summary

State of Wyoming, via WYDOT, is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician in Medicine Bow, WY. The role involves outdoor, hands-on highway maintenance to keep Wyoming’s roads safe and reliable. Work with a team dedicated to safety, quality, and service to travelers across the state.

The position requires operating heavy equipment, traffic control, and routine facility upkeep, with opportunities for CDL-related training and certifications. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies the role.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months of hire.
• Ability to obtain Defensive Driving certification.
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to obtain Flagger certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates heavy equipment safely and proficiently.
• Flags traffic and sets up traffic control devices under limited supervision.
• Operates trucks and equipment for snow/ice removal and roadway maintenance.
• Rehabilitates roadway surfaces and traffic control devices as needed.
• Performs maintenance of highway facilities and may handle water/wastewater tasks.
• Completes required state and federal training to obtain certifications.
