Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of maintenance tasks under supervision. Training in Highway/Roadway Routine Maintenance will be provided.

Responsibilities include culvert clearing, mowing roadside brush, pavement repairs, storm cleanup and equipment operation. Requires night work, valid driver’s license, and ability to work in adverse weather; lifting and bending are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• SOME NIGHT WORK REQUIRED
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving.
• Ableto work in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to lift moderately heavy objects.
• Be able to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods of time.
• Accurate eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations with work plans and work schedules due to workload or season display.

Responsibilities

• Clean and clear culverts.
• Mowing, and clearing brush from roadsides.
• Patching broken or eroded pavements and shoulders.
• Assist in storm cleanup.
• Fence and sign repair.
• Litter/debris removal.
• Emergency response.
• Operate equipment used in Highway Maintenance.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
• Use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.
