Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of road maintenance tasks under supervision. We are seeking a qualified applicant that will train in Highway/Roadway Routine Maintenance.

Ideal candidates are 18+ years old, have a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to work at night and in all weather conditions. Training provided where needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Some night work required.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving.
• Able to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to lift moderately heavy objects.
• Be able to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods.
• Accurate eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations with work plans and work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Clean and clear culverts.
• Mowing and clearing brush from roadsides.
• Patching broken or eroded pavements and shoulders.
• Assist in storm cleanup.
• Fence and sign repair.
• Litter/debris removal.
• Emergency response.
• Operate equipment used in Highway Maintenance.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
• Use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.
