Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of progressive experience in related field with the skills, knowledge and abilities required or two years of related technical training plus one year of experience; or equivalent combined education and experience.
• Valid Class A CDL driver’s License.
• HAZ-MAT certification.
• Safety training.
• First Aid training.
• Chainsaw training.
• Drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Operates trucks and light equipment for activities that include re-graveling aggregate surfaced roads, patching and re-paving bituminous-surfaced highways, plowing snow and side-winging shoulder slopes on all roads.
• Plows snow and sanding about 40 miles of roadway during winter conditions.
• Places and embeds seal coat aggregate on aging paved-surfaced routes.
• Maintains roadside ditches and culverts.
• Cleans and/or repairs equipment or shop buildings as directed.
• Performs other work-related duties as required.
