Job summary

The Martin County Highway Department in Minnesota is seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Specialist to maintain roads, bridges and equipment. You will operate heavy equipment, perform sealcoating, patching, and manage a snow route of 40–50 miles.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 3 years related experience or 2 years training plus 1 year, and a valid Class A CDL with required certifications. Must be able to work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three years progressive experience in related field or two years of training plus one year of experience.
• Valid Class A CDL driver’s License.
• HAZ-MAT certification, Safety training, First Aid training, Chainsaw training, Drug testing.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance operations and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates trucks and light equipment for road maintenance tasks.
• Plows snow on about 40 miles of roadway in winter.
• Seals coat aggregate and patches roads as needed.
• Maintains roadside ditches and culverts.
• Participates in safety meetings and ensures regulatory compliance.
