Job summary

Walworth County in Elkhorn, WI is seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Technician to keep county roads safe and passable. You will operate heavy equipment, perform routine maintenance, and support winter operations on county highways and related assets.

Requirements include a high school diploma and a valid Wisconsin CDL (A or B) with six-months to obtain a tanker endorsement if not already held. Work hours are typically 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with overtime during winter conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two to three years of relevant experience preferred.
• Valid Wisconsin CDL - Class A or B required on hire; tanker endorsement may be required within six months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe travel conditions on assigned highways.
• Operate equipment including loaders, rollers and other county gear.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and keep timecards.
• Seasonal road maintenance tasks such as crack sealing and snow removal.
