Job summary

Walworth County is seeking an employee for a limited-term evening-shift role focused on maintaining safe travel conditions on county highways and equipment upkeep. The position offers full-time hours (40/wk) through February 26, 2027, with shifts 3:30 PM–12:00 AM or 10:30 PM–7:00 AM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2–3 years of relevant maintenance/road work experience preferred.
• Valid Wisconsin CDL - Class A or B; Tanker endorsement N within 30 days of hire.
• Good driving record for past 10 years; steel toe safety shoes required.

Responsibilities

• Remove snow and de-ice assigned highways.
• Maintain and install snowplows, snow wings and sanders.
• Install and remove snow fence; mark curbs and culverts.
• Patrol highways for signs; patch holes and repair shoulders.
• Operate equipment including plow trucks, loaders, rollers.
• Seasonal tasks: crack filling, paving, traffic control and lane closures.
