Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a skilled equipment operator to support highway maintenance crews. You will operate excavators, loaders, graders, and trucks to repair roads, patch potholes, and transport materials along the state highway system.

A minimum of one year of related work experience is required. A valid driver's license is required, with Class A CDL to be obtained within six months. You must work in varying weather conditions and may be required for extended shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, graders and trucks for road maintenance and patching.
• Assist with placement of traffic control devices and ensure safety in work zones.
• Support emergency and winter weather operations including loading materials and snow removal.
