The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking a Highway Technician Assistant I at the Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways in Georgetown, KY. Duties include operating trucks, patching potholes, and concrete work. Eligible for overtime; standard 40-hour week.

Requires high school diploma, 18+ years old, and a valid driver's license with Class B CDL within 12 months. Training in first aid, snow/ice, flagging, and OSHA 10 is required within a year. E-Verify participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license required; Class B CDL within 12 months.
• First Aid and Snow and Ice Training within 12 months; Traffic Control/Flagger and OSHA 10 Certifications or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate single axle dump trucks.
• Patch potholes in bridge decks using jackhammers and other tools in summer.
• Form, pour, and finish concrete in various applications.
• Operate dump trucks with snow plow and salt spreader in winter.
• Flag for operations requiring traffic control.
