Qualifications

• Experience operating highway maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures applicable to highway work.
• Ability to read operating manuals and specifications for equipment.
• Ability to maintain routine records and document work performed.
• Ability to train and work cooperatively with other skilled workers.
• Ability to diagnose and perform basic mechanical repairs in the field.

Responsibilities

• Drive dump, flatbed, or tandem-axle trucks on highway projects.
• Operate vegetation and highway maintenance equipment and attachments.
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and tools.
• Repair and construct culverts, pavement, and bridges as assigned.
• Flag, sign, and maintain traffic control on worksites.
