Job summary

State-of-West-Virgini Marshall County seeks a Transportation Worker 2 Equipment Operator to perform skilled highway maintenance and operations. You will drive and service equipment, repair culverts and bridges, and support traffic control and roadside tasks.

With CDL Class A or B, you’ll enter a U.S. DOL apprenticeship program and may work irregular hours; the role requires equipment knowledge, safety discipline, and the ability to perform field repairs. Tier 1 rate is $18.3938 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL required.
• No substitutions for the CDL requirement.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance equipment and attachments.
• Perform minor field repairs and maintenance on equipment.
• Repair and construct culverts; patch pavements and bridges.
• Assist with traffic control, sign deployment, and site housekeeping.
