Job summary

State of Indiana, through INDOT Bluffton, is hiring a skilled automotive technician to maintain and repair a diverse fleet, including heavy equipment. The role requires diagnosing engines, performing repairs, and supporting winter operations with snowplows and related equipment.

A valid CDL (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days) and solid mechanical knowledge are required. Excellent safety practices and EMS record-keeping will be essential in this field.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain one within 90 days.
• Thorough knowledge of automobile functions, systems, and repairs.
• Thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment usage.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures.
• High School Diploma or HSE with 1+ years in a similar role may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Rebuild, repair, and maintain cars, trucks, and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose engine and mechanical issues and complete major/minor repairs.
• Provide winter operations support and snow/ice removal.
• Maintain EMS records and order/pick up parts.
• Attend required trainings and coordinate with Shop Foreman.
